Koh Chang
Koh Chang: Most of hotels and resorts located on the west coast of Koh Chang where are Klong Son Bay, White Sand Beach, Pearl Beach, Chai Chet Cape, Klong Prao Beach, Kai Bae Beach, Lonely Beach, Bai Lan Bay, Bang Bao Bay and Klong Kloi Beach. Some hotels and resorts on the east coast of Koh Chang are at Salak Kok Bay, Salak Phet Bay, Long Beach and Ban Chek Bae. There are 3 piers at mainland (Trat) to go to Koh Chang; Koh Chang Ferry pier (Ao Thammachart), Center Point Ferry pier and Laem Ngob pier. The distance from Suvarnabhumi International Airport (New Bangkok International Airport) to Koh Chang is around 320 kilometers (travelling time 4-5 hours). Koh Chang, Koh Mak, Koh Kood and nearby islands are situated a long way away from any mainland rivers and thus the water around the islands is very clear and free from sediment. Thus the beaches are of clean white sand with crystal clear seawater and rich marine life. In the sheltered locations coral reefs occur with numerous coral types such as Massive coral, Staghorn coral, Laminar coral, Columna coral, Giant clams, Sea anemone, Sea fan, Sea star, Marine fishes and seaweeds. This marine diversity can be observed at many locations around the park, particularly good sites include Koh Chang Noi, Koh Yuak, Koh Man Nok, Koh Khlum, Koh Wai, Koh Laoya, Koh Ngam, Koh Rang, Ko Kra, and along the eastern side of Koh Chang island. Another good place to explore the marine life is around the wrecks of the Thai warships “Songkhla” and “Chonburi” in Salak Phet Bay on the southern end of the island :Mu Koh Chang
